With fall drawing to a close, winter is slowly making its approach. The fall season started out unpredictably with some cold days and some unusually warm days. People should expect to see more of these fluctuating temperatures for the rest of autumn. Areas such as upper New York and Vermont will see snow much quicker than the mid-Atlantic region. Snow for our area will be expected in January to February. The Northern Plains and the Rockies are already expecting snow, and they will get much snow throughout the winter. Even though our area has not started to receive snow, California is expecting much winter precipitation. That will provide relief from their drought. Our biggest chances for seeing snow is November, December and February. Snowfall will be normal in the North and above normal in the South. Hopefully, the snow will play out to our advantage, so we can have more days off!
