This year’s girls JV soccer team has performed outstandingly and have met the seasons expectations. Led by sophomore team captains Bre Della Corna, Brittany Gallagher and Marly Messina, the lady Saxon soccer team had a record of eight wins and one loss, in addition to one tie against Stone Bridge. “We would have been undefeated, but we lost a tough game to Chantilly,” said Della Corna. In addition to outnumbering their opponents with a 32 to two record of goals allowed, the team also cooperates well together, according to Head Coach Frank Fonke. “The freshmen have been playing with each other for years. The sophomores know each other from last year’s JV team, and the captains do a great job with the other team members,” said Fonke.
