As the spring varsity track and field season is coming to an end, students will begin to say their goodbyes to the senior athletes. Sixteen seniors, who all have competed in a wide array of events varying from long-distance running to pole-vaulting, were recognized on senior night, for all their strenuous efforts this year. By pushing themselves to go further and work harder, this talented group has made numerous accomplishments throughout the season.
Many of these dedicated seniors have been running and competing in both track and field and cross country for the full 12 seasons of their high school career. “My favorite track memory was winning winter track districts this year,” said senior Grace Brassell.
As they continue to push themselves further to make personal records and succeed, these senior students lead the underclassmen by example, establishing high standards for next year’s captains to look up to. Head Coach Joshua Culver encourages his athletes during every race, jump and hurdle, “There are no failures- just experiences and your reactions to them.” Congrats seniors!
