The Langley varsity and junior varsity lacrosse team is starting off this year’s season full of promise this Saturday. Both teams play at home starting at 12:30. Opponents are Broad Run and Osborne Park, two district teams. Mr. Parrot, the assistant varsity coach, has high hopes for the season. When asked about his thoughts about being the best team in the district, Mr. Parrot stated “Absolutely! We are coming into this season with our second consecutive state championship, and a very strong senior class.” With a returning senior class of nine players, as well as strong juniors and sophomores, the Saxons are deep with skill on all sides of the field. Mr. Parrot also added that the Northern Region has very difficult competition that will test the Saxons consistently throughout the season. “The Northern Region is always very competitive. Chantilly, Oakton and Robinson always have very strong teams and are well coached.” says Mr. Parrot. The Saxon’s lacrosse team will be the team to beat after back to back championships and will be looking for a three-peat at the state championship this season.
