The Langley hockey squad has finished their season after a win loss of 6-4. They finished on a strong 4 game win streak and continue their momentum into the playoffs playing Forest Park in the first round. After last season’s 8-1 record and successful playoff drive, many Langley players are optimistic about their playoff appearance this year.
“If we get a good crowd at the game and the cheering is loud enough, I feel confident that we can win against any opponent,” explained Grant Grieco. The first round of the playoffs will be played in the Ashburn Ice House against the long awaited rival Forest Park High School which is one of the better teams in the state.
Even if Langley loses its first round, it still has three chances to compete and possible win the state title. After playing Forest Park, the Saxons will take on long district rival Stone Bridge. “Stone Bridge is definitely the best team in the district and we’ll need all the momentum we got to drive our team past Stone Bridge and into the further stage of the playoffs,” said sophomore Derick Paxton.
With high expectations, the Langley hockey team will decide their playoff fate soon enough when playing the two hockey powerhouses Forest Park and district rival Stone Bridge.
