Back in October, on the day our newsmagazine debuted, we told you we were changing for the better. Looking back on our year, we realize this motto sums up our experiences at Langley as a whole.
Think about it, seniors. We really have been the class of change. Aside from bringing about Langley’s first newsmagazine, the changes that have occurred under the leadership of the class of 2011 are endless.
As Saxons, we transformed color day into blackout day. As scholars, we held one of the most memorable Case Days to date. As athletes, we claimed district titles, broke state records, and surpassed our limits.
Despite the drive and perseverance we displayed over the years, none of our accomplishments would have been possible without the support system of the Langley community.
To the administrators, thank you for supporting our leadership efforts and trusting us to take things into our own hands.
To the teachers, thank you for enhancing our talents, improving our imperfections, and making your classrooms a second home for all.
To the parents, thank you for putting up with the stressful lives of teenagers, and for always pushing us to do what is right.
And last, but certainly not least, a final thank you to the seniors of the class of 2011. None of us would be where we are without the supporting yet competitive atmosphere each of us brings to the floor. In your final days as a Saxon, take a minute to thank your friends and peers, and appreciate each of them for the impact they have made on your life.
As your life changes around you in these next few months, strive to create a new reputation while mixing in the quality of the Langley class of 2011—the desire to instigate change, set new standards, and exceed every expectation.
But for now, revel in the three words we’ve been waiting years to say—
We did it.
