One by one, students approach the booth by the cafeteria doors, money in hand to buy candy canes for their friends and teachers. Several SGA members seated at the booth smile cheerfully at their customers, encouraging everyone to buy more candy grams.
“We put the fun in fundraising!” exclaims sophomore and SGA member Lacey Sternberg. The candy grams are being sold throughout every lunch until Dec. 15, three for $2.
Even though selling candy grams can be a slow process at times, it is an extremely profitable fundraiser. The money raised will go towards class funds as well as next year’s prom.
With all the commotion of teachers cramming in tests before the break and the preparation for Christmas shopping and vacations, a little candy from a friend is exactly what some people need.
“When you get a candy gram, you get excited for the holiday season. There are only a few days left!” said sophomore Courtney Cuppernull.
“It is the perfect holiday candy, it’s all pepperminty goodness!” added sophomore Arianna Kuhnsman.
