With a bigger enrollment and stricter rules in class, the leadership class at Langley this year has taken on a new attitude. “The SGA will try to be more present in all school events, just like they were at the homecoming dance,” said Leadership teacher Ms. Mary Landis.
New senior privileges have the class of 2012 excited about the upcoming school year. “The never-before done smoothie days earlier in the year are one example of what seniors have to look forward to,” said senior class president Ryan Natal. “The SGA has also planned treat days of soft pretzels, donuts, Oreos, and cinnamon buns.” The senior class will receive an all-senior lunch once a quarter. They have already taken a trip to Dave and Busters, and will take the regularly scheduled trip later in the year to Hershey Park. “I feel that the SGA is working hard to provide the seniors with a variety of new and different privileges,” said senior Chris Roman.
The SGA is also hard at work organizing a fundraiser for February called ‘Thon.” It is modeled after a popular Penn State dance fundraiser held to benefit childhood cancer.
