Countless wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center lack proper clothing upon their arrival.
“Any person rushed to a hospital will only have the clothes they were wearing at the time of injury or clothing provided to them at one of the combat hospitals in Iraq or Afghanistan, or at the hospital in Germany,” said Gigail Cureton, the Media Relations Officer for teh Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Those in need recently received aid from the clothing drive sponsored by Langley’s wrestling and fahsion programs. The drive was held to collect gently-used items such as nice blouses, cargo shorts, and dresses. This is the first year that this drive has been conducted at Langley, but sophomore wrestler and drive organizer Tate Dulany plans to continue it.
“It’s been a good learning experience, and next year we are going to try to make it more public,” said Dulany.
