After 32 years at Langley, math teacher Mr. Ralph Dibari is retiring at the end of the year. Mr.Dibari teaches pre-calculus in addition to Honors Algebra II.
Mr. Richard Whitehead, a fellow math teacher who has worked with Mr. Dibari for the past 12 years, said, “Mr. Dibari is my role model—he is like the he-man of the universe. It has been a joyous time working with Mr. Dibari.”
Although he’s looking forward to retirement, with his countdown until the summer prominently displayed on his board, he will be back occasionally as a substitute teacher. He has most enjoyed “the unpredictability of his students,” throughout his teaching career.
Facing his departure, he’ll still “greatly miss his co-workers and students. His Langley legacy lives on through these words of encouragement for his students: “I want you to be successful in life.”
As is the case with many great teachers, the feeling is mutual. Junior Alicia Underhill, a student in Mr.Dibari’s Honor’s Algebra II class, remarked “I learned a lot from him and I really hope he enjoys life after Langley High School.”
