On June 10, the juniors will miss their Saxon Time and fourth period classes to attend the first ever junior career fair. “Students are becoming more career conscious as the years go by so we want them to explore jobs that interest them and careers of the future,” said college counselor Ms. Betty Schneider. The Career fair will be hosted by a key-note speaker and split into three half-hour sessions, during which over 30 speakers of various professions will make presentations. The speakers are a majority of parents or friends of parents.
This will be the first time Langley has held a Career fair just for the juniors. “I’ve wanted to have a career fair for a while now,” said Ms. Schneider. “A lot of work still has to be done because we have to keep in constant communication with the speakers, get the kids to sign up, and plan the sessions.” Hopefully, this year will be the beginning of many career fairs for our future juniors.
