Thank you for visiting the website of the Saxon Scope, Langley High School’s newsmagazine. The Saxon Scope is released once a month and serves students, faculty, and the Langley High School community. Student journalists write and edit all articles. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to submit material for publication. The newspaper reporting, typesetting, layout, photography, and computer graphics designs are also done by the journalism classes at Langley.

The magazine is financed through subscription costs and advertisements. If you would like to advertise with us, you can use the contact form below.

This site was launched in October 2009 and underwent a major redesign in January 2011. We use WordPress as our content management system (CMS), and School Newspapers Online for the design. This year, as part of our push to provide more streamlined, multimedia coverage, the magazine and the website are becoming more unified. Many stories in the paper are now accompanied by additional layers of multimedia coverage on the website, such as photo galleries, videos, and interactive Flash stories. The Saxon Scope website was an NSPA Online Pacemaker finalist in 2011, and also received an All-American rating from the NSPA, which is the highest possible ranking for a website.

The Scope can also bring you the latest news when you’re on the go. Visit www.saxonscope.com on any SmartPhone, and you will be directed to a mobile version of the site.
