Signing up for classes is always stressful. However, with the junior year burden of AP classes, students feel pressure to take classes that may be overwhelming. Next year, juniors will have the option to enroll in AP Physics 1, a course that is, according to counselors, the same level as the generic Honors Physics class. As the class was previously only available to seniors, it has now been split into two parts: AP Physics 1 for juniors, and AP Physics 2 for seniors; however, students who complete the first class aren’t required to take the second. With college looming near, it’s a viable option for those looking to add more depth to their applications. As it’s an AP, students receive a whole point boost to their GPA. Along with this, students enrolled in AP Physics aren’t required to do the Science Fair, however Honors students are. “I’m excited to take it because I like science and this way I get another AP class,” said rising junior Brittany Lund.
