Senior Dennis Won’s exertion in the medical field has resulted in major accomplishments, most notably a first place win at the International Science Fair .
He recently developed a “new cancer treatment strategy” in which he used vitamins and green tea as a method to overcome prostate cancer cell resistance, rather than using pills and heavy medicine. This earned him first place at the Intel competition.
After this first place win, Won also received an invitation to the Nobel Peace Prize Conference in Stockholm Sweden this December, along with an all expenses paid trip to Taiwan, and $10,000 in scholarship money.
Won cites his project with two major contributions, both major breakthroughs. The senior’s latest achievements also include the discovery of a new gene function, as well as the development of a ‘new cancer treatment strategy’ using natural substances, a new approach and an innovative experimenting method.
After two summer vacations spent researching at the Georgetown Cancer Center, Dennis is certainly reaping the benefits of his hard work and should be proud of his success.
