I hate it when people say “year-aversary.” I understand the whole “month-aversary” because people what to celebrate a month or three months of doing something: like being friends, or dating. Relationships can be sort, especially in high school. We all should learn to live in the moment and appreciate the little things. The word “month-aversary” was made up so we could do that. ‘It may not be a year, but hey, we did something worth naming.’ However, “year-aversary” is just stupid; it’s a play on the word anniversary which already means a year. If you’ve never heard someone say this, be glad. If you are someone who says it, please stop.
