Summer is underway and you know what that means, chess season has begun!

The players assemble during all lunches in the sunlit courtyard. They partake in vigorous head to head battles of strategy and wit in an attempt to make a name for themselves in the Langley chess world.

Chess is a competitive sport that anyone and everyone can enjoy, “chess allows people of all ages, all races, and all creeds to come together equally and compete and share with each other,” said senior government teacher Mr. Micah Herzig.

Students from all aspects of life can spend just 25 minutes with a friend or any random opponent and enjoy a fun, heated game of chess.
