Carnival Update

Two cancellations and eight months of speculation later, the carnival has finally been set for Monday, June 7. After nearly an entire school year of rumors and confusion, students will finally see what this new Langley tradition will be like.

The carnival will be full of exciting rides, fun games and free food. There will be rides such as Turbo Tubs and Whirly Birds and three tents filled with carnival games like ring tosses and a ski ball. Moon bounces, jump shot basketball games and a high striker or carnival strength tester will be just a few of many other attractions at the carnival. Free popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones will be available for everyone as well.

Another carnival activity that will most likely appeal to many students is the two dunk tanks. Students will have the opportunity to soak teachers, classmates and even Mr. Ragone.

“I single handedly built this carnival from the ground up with nothing but a can of elbow grease and a dream,” says SGA officer, senior Alex Hostetter. Hostetter worked with the SGA and Mr. Ragone to plan this carnival in September, which was meant to be a homecoming event and could even become a homecoming tradition in the following years.

Students will be released from classes at noon to go to the carnival. It will go on until two for students who need to catch buses home but others may stay until three. “Everyone is expected to go to. People cannot leave campus,” says Mr. Ragone, seeing as usual school rules will apply.

The SGA does suggest that students bring money to the carnival. Pizza and drinks will be on sale and tickets for carnival games will be sold at very low prices as well.

“This school needs a hero. I am that hero. The carnival will happen and I hope everyone has a good time,” says Hostetter.
