An enthralling combination of fame and entertainment, the 2011 Annual Grammy Awards, took place last Sunday. Cee Lo Green, Katy Perry, Lady Antebellum, and Lady Gaga were among this year’s most prominent musicians. With Lady Antebellum taking home both “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year,” the talented country trio was proved worthy as chart-topping artists. Esperanza Spalding won “Best New Artist” against teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, who came in as a close second. Spalding is the first jazz artist to win a Grammy; considering she isn’t a typical mainstream pop artist, the fact she received this award is quite refreshing. John Mayer, Michael Buble, and classics, such as Barbra Streisand and Eric Clapton were also awarded for their musical endeavors.
