Newly Renovated Auditorium

Looking as clean and fresh as a sterile brand new hospital, the new development, and 1st stage of the renovation project, is now open. While getting the opportunity to tour the new wing with Langley Principal Mr. Amico, I was able to see how every single thing about the new development is brand new and state of the art. This includes minor details someone may not recognize when 1st walking around it, such as the energy efficient water fountains with a slot to fill a water bottle or the new aisles of the auditorium.

This new wing was primarily developed for the Langley’s theatre department and the music programs of the school. The auditorium was built just in time for Langley’s production of Chicago, with all new seating, and the ability for the stage to be further built out of the front if needed. Not only is there a brand new auditorium, there is a new ½ stage available for use in the open front hallway of the new development, “Perfect” said Amico, for “Trophy ceremonies or small scale performances and events”.

Along with classrooms specifically designed for music programs, such as brand new Orchestra, Band, and Choir rooms, the main office and its elements will also be moved to this development. With huge glass panels surrounding it, the Main Office now sits at the front of the school, with the Administrators, the Athletic Office, and even the clinic joining in the move.

Now for some of the students wondering about the current music rooms and what will be its replacement in the future, Langley students will not be getting only 1, but 2 new small courtyards to go along with the future renovated big courtyard.

From spending time touring all parts of the new development with Mr. Amico, the one thing he emphasized the most was that, “Every feature or part of the school is fresh and brand-new”. And it is clear form just seeing the first stage of the renovation process, that the future for Langley’s renovation and what the school will look like in a few years, is bright.
