The race for secretary of the class of 2012 was not packed; nor did it induce a quickening of the heart or excitement over the competition. It was a quiet encounter between two capable candidates who appealed to the foundation upon which student elections are based.
“I am a highly motivated individual who pursues everything with the utmost seriousness and I always strive for excellence,” said candidate Ormazd Asadi.
The two candidates, newcomer Ormazd Asadi and current secretary Chandler Ebeier both appealed to the intellectual aspect of the job of secretary. While Asadi took a more formal tone, Eiber took a chance at a more casual tone.
“I’m organized, committed, reliable and dedicated. If I start something, I’m not just going to give up,” said Ebeier.
The short speeches were a welcome refresher amongst the other long-winded speeches of the year, ending on a note that was short and sweet.
