It’s Almost October

Its+Almost+October

For the past 100 years, Americans everywhere have waited anxiously for the MLB playoffs, which begin in early October.  The road to the World Series has been made eternally famous through many defining moments that shape the way people think about baseball. This year the competition has been tight in both conferences and the 2016 playoffs should be some of the most exciting ones yet.

The Chicago Cubs have already clinched their division, are currently 94 and 55, and sit at first place in all of baseball. They have had the best record all season, and finally secured their playoff spot in mid-September. Until recently, the Cubs were infamous for being very bad, year after year. But within the past 5 years, they have been able to draft some solid players, including Kris Bryant and Jake Arrieta.

The second team in baseball right now is the Washington Nationals, who are currently 88-61. They have been in a solid second place in the National league for the past few months, but have yet to clinch their division. The Nationals have been in the running to make the playoffs for the past four years, and the team won the division in 2012 and 2014. Now the Nationals will try to clinch the National League East for the third time in their short history.

Nationals Fan, and Junior Timmy Swiers said “I really hope the Nationals can make it to the World Series this year, they definitely have a good chance.”

Whatever the outcome baseball fans everywhere will have a very exciting October.
