An anonymous threat has been sent to several Langley students, in wake of the boys and girls varsity basketball game tonight against McLean. The police have investigated the text and believe it to have no credability. However, principals of the two rival schools have responded to the threat in an email to the parents of Langley and McLean students.
Dear Saxon/Highlander Parents,
We are writing to inform you that a small group of students received an anonymous, threatening text regarding tonight’s Langley vs. McLean varsity double header basketball games. Fairfax County Police are still investigating the message and do not believe it to be credible at this time. The police and staffs of both Langley High School and McLean High School will be extra vigilant before and during tonight’s contest. The McLean/Langley rivalry is both historic and respected regionally for the intensity and sportsmanship common to our competitions. We hope to see you tonight,
Ellen Reilly Bruce Butler
