Q & A with Austin Vasiliadis
Matt: What’s it like being the only sophomore on Varsity this year?
Austin: It’s fine and pretty cool, most of the guys are nice to me, but sometimes I get stuck doing the jobs that no one else wants, buts that’s what I expected being the youngest one out there.
Matt: Do the other players accept you as a teammate or treat you like a little kid?
Austin: Most of them have been pretty accepting. I’m pretty good friends with some of them so that makes it better.
Matt: What do you expect to contribute to the team this year?
Austin: This year I hope to play good defense, run the offense, and overall be a leader on the court.
Matt: Are you expecting to get a significant amount of playing time this year?
Austin: Yeah. Right now I’m starting at point guard, and hope to keep that all year.
Matt: Are there any players you look up to on the team as leaders?
Austin: I have to go up against Abe (Yi, senior) everyday in practice and we play the same position, so I get to see him play and talk with him a lot.
