According to Annie Snitman, the Sophomore Class President this year, “the sophomore SGA officers have created a tradition that will go on past our time at Langley.”
The goal was to bring together the student body in a fun way. The movie idea was formed around the basis for the sophomore class event this year and eventually it opened up to the whole school.
While originally scheduled to be held in the courtyard, the movie was moved indoors due to the weather. However, Snitman and the sophomore SGA officers still consider the event a success. “We made a great event that let everyone enjoy a classic movie and unite everyone while having a blast,” said Snitman.
Tickets the previous week were sold during all lunches and the SGA sold 22 tickets. 50 were then sold at the door later that night, and for a five dollar ticket at the door, students got unlimited popcorn, two drinks, two pieces of pizza and lots of candy.
“The event was a huge success and we had a ton of fun,” said sophomore treasurer Sun Park.
Snitman added, “I think next year we will have an even bigger turn out because the idea won’t be brand new to the student body. We hope to make it even bigger and better.”
